Awash National Park
Awash National Park sits within the Great Rift Valley and presents a striking lowland contrast to Ethiopia’s towering highlands. The landscape is defined by open savannah, volcanic formations, acacia woodlands, and the dramatic Awash Falls.
The Awash River cuts through the park before plunging into a scenic gorge, creating waterfalls framed by dark basalt rock. Wildlife includes oryx, gazelles, baboons, warthogs, and over 400 species of birds, making it a paradise for birdwatchers.
